Joan is a specialist in governance, education, and risk management with over forty years of professional practice. Over her career, Joan’s primary focus was promoting effective consultation, team-work, and management systems. She brings this focus to her consulting practice, working with client teams to identify pragmatic, workable, approaches to address complex problems. She has the unique ability to draw diverse and sometimes fractious groups together to achieve consensus.

Risk Management Specialist

Joan is a risk management specialist who addresses organizational social and management structures through an enterprise risk lens. She works towards balancing the dynamics of various teams within the context of overall corporate objectives, risk strategies and financial capacity. She firmly believes that people make organizations run efficiently, and works with staff to identify the best approaches to managing organizational risk.

Staff Engagement

Joan can help clients achieve a more sustainable approach to addressing climate impacts by identifying those approaches that will deliver the highest staff engagement and support. Joan works with clients to determine the most cost-effective balance between mitigating risk and achieving organizational buy-in. She can help organizations maximize their ability to deliver a sound risk management strategy and capitalize on opportunities.

Joan holds a degree in biology from the University of Toronto. She also has degrees from Queen’s University in education and business administration. Joan holds a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) professional designation from the Global Risk Management Institute (GRMI).

In partnership with Joel, Joan founded Nodelcorp Consulting in 2002 based on her firm belief that the combination of their professional skills and experience offer synergies that support superior client service.
